Mayor,
Town of New Glasgow:
On behalf of the Town
Council and residents of the Town of
New Glasgow it is my pleasure to
welcome you to New Glasgow and to
the Festival of the Tartans, held
annually since 1958.
The Festival of the
Tartans has been a significant part
of the heritage and history of our
town for more than a half a century.
The Festival of the Tartans
continues to deliver a wonderful
opportunity to celebrate our
wonderful Scottish music, dance,
language, athletics, history and
cuisine.
May it be a weekend
full of fine tradition, toe tapping
music, great competition, fond
memories and lasting friendships.

Welcomes
As
President of the Festival of the
Tartans and Highland Games, it gives
me great pleasure to welcome you to
our cultural festival!
I am
very proud to be a part of a committee
with dedicated volunteers who cherish
the Scottish heritage and culture and
we are proud to be able to showcase
that this week.
Be
sure to embrace the events that are
taking place throughout the week that
highlight the Scottish traditions such
as highland dancing, heavy weight
demonstrations, and not to mention the
pipe and drums.
Our
committee is very excited to welcome
Ashley MacIsaac as our entertainment
for the Concert under the Stars on
Saturday evening. It is a great night
for the whole family to enjoy.
I
have no doubt this week will present a
fun, cultural experience to be enjoyed
by not only the Scottish, but the
Scottish at heart!
Brenda MacKay
President
Festival of the Tartans.
